Airport Star capture trophy

KARACHI, July 23: Airport Star won the final after a thrilling five runs victory against Malir Cricket Club in the 2nd Raees Siddiqui Memorial Cricket tournament played here at Airport Stadium Monday.

Batting first, Airport Star made 195 for two in 30 overs match. Opener Shakir Hussain made 80 runs with five fours, Safdar Hussein 51 with six 4s and Asim Mumtaz made unbeaten 40 with three boundaries. Zahid Farooq (HLS) captured two wickets for 42.

In reply, Malir Companion ended up at 190 for nine. Nasir Aziz made 44 with six fours and Gayasuddin 40 with five foursand a six. Naveed Khan 3-35 and Shakir 2-18 were the successful bowlers for the winners.
