LAHORE, July 23: An accountability court on Tuesday directed the NAB to summon complete record of the defunct Pasban Co-operative Finance Corporation (PCFC) from the Punjab Co-operatives Bank Limited (PCBL) and reconcile it with the record lying with PCFC chairman Sheikh Mansoor on July 27 for the determination of liabilities.

Sheikh Mansoor had moved an application for summoning such record on grounds that the NAB had not yet calculated his actual liabilities due to PCFC. According to him, the NAB had failed to establish Rs1 billion liability on the record and as suggested by the NAB record he owed Rs320 million only.

The accused pleaded before the court that it should arrange his meeting with the representative of the Pasban carrying complete record so that his actual liabilities in this regard could be determined.

The court while accepting the application named Chamba House as the meeting place.

Sheikh Mansoor had offered a packaged deal of Rs400 million payment against his exoneration from corruption charges of Rs418.60 million levelled by the NAB. Sheikh Mansoor had pleaded that further proceedings in the two corruption charges of Rs240 million and Rs178.60 million, respectively, be brought to an end once for all.

However, this application had been rejected by the NAB on grounds that Mansoor owed over Rs1 billion and could not be let off against a total payment of Rs400 million only.
