BADIN, July 23: The villagers of the Ibrahim Mallah village, Badin Taluka, have on Tuesday expressed grave concern regarding the investigation of a murder case, No120/2002.

Several of the villagers including Mohammed Hayat Mallah, Mohammed Juman, Mohammed Sajan, and Haji Juman said the in charge, investigation, Ghulam Nabi Shah, including the chief investigation officer were taking no interest in the investigation and were pressurizing the complainant to settle the issue with the accused.

They alleged that the police were being influenced by some political activists.

A villager, Hayat Mallah, said that his nephew, Mumtaz Mallah, was killed and three others injured by the accused.

He alleged that the police were compelling the complainant to exclude the name of the main accused, Soomar Mallah, otherwise he would be involved in a fake case.

He accused the investigation team of staining the murder case.

He said that following the omissions and commissions on the part of the investigation team, the accused person and his supporters had blocked the flow of irrigation water to their fields and were threatening to involve them in false cases.
