KARACHI, July 23: The Sindh government has constituted a 4- member media committee to be headed by the Sindh home secretary as conveyor, the Sindh secretary Information as secretary/ member and representatives of the CPNE and the APNS to mediate and resolve disputes between newspapers and the government.

The committee will scrutinize the objectionable matter in the light of the current ethical standards, fix responsibility and suggest action and give its findings as expeditiously as possible, but not later then 15 days.

The said committee has been constituted following the action taken by the Sindh home department a few days back against two dailies in Karachi for publishing objectionable material and photographs .

The committee will work on a permanent basis and will be responsible for resolution of such disputes.—PPI
