HYDERABAD, July 22: A group of residents of Shah Latif Colony and Lalu Lashari Goth, led by Haji Mubarak Chandio and Rahib Khan Magsi, staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Monday against the alleged excesses of Pinyari police station.

Raising slogans against the SHO and other staff, they claimed that three of the policemen, Mohammad Khan Mallah, Shah Zaman Chandio and Zameer Jatoi, barged into their homes at night and insulted and humiliated the women folk.

Their highhandedness, the protesters said, had made the lives of the people miserable.

They accused the staff of the police station of patronising the brothels operating in Shah Latif Colony. They demanded of the SSP Hyderabad to take stern action against the policemen.

HUNGER STRIKE: Half a dozen former employees of the Zeal Pak Cement Factory continued their hunger strike outside the press club here on the 8th consecutive day, Monday.

They are protesting against the factory management and the CBA union accusing them of hatching a conspiracy to deprive the employees of the golden handshake, provident fund and gratuity.

They said that the properties, offered to some employees against their outstanding dues, had not been transferred in their names.
