HYDERABAD, Sept 17 Activists of different left wing parties staged a march from the Sindh University Model School to the press club here on Thursday, demanding reopening of comrade Nazeer Abbasi murder case and arrest of Brig (Rtd) Imtiaz and other accused.
The activists of the Communist Party of Pakistan, Awami Party, Labour Party and other left wing parties participated in the rally. They were led by Taj Mari, Imdad Qazi and Latif Inqalabi.
A declaration issued on the occasion said that during the Ziaul Haq martial law, an operation was launched against the Communist Party of Pakistan in which the central leadership of the party was arrested and Nazeer Abbasi was tortured to death.
The declaration said that it was not the first operation against the left wing parties in the country. The declaration demanded reopening of Nazeer Abbasi murder case and arrest of those involved in the killing.
BOYCOTT Lawyers of Hyderabad on the call of the high court and district bar associations boycotted court proceedings on Thursday in protest against delay in the arrest of the killers of a colleague.
Sher Baz Khoso was killed while he was going to Tando Allahyar from here a few weeks ago. A joint meeting of members of the high court and district bar associations demanded immediate arrest of the killers of Khoso.
Speaking on the occasion, the president, High Court Bar Association, Hyderabad chapter, Qazi Abdul Sattar, Hyderabad District Bar Association president Choudhry Basheer, Zafar Rajput and Ayaz Tunio said that if the killers of Mr Khoso were not arrested in a week, no lawyer would represent any policeman in any court of law.
