Button likely to join BAR

MAGNY-COURS (France), July 21: The British American Racing (BAR) Formula One team are expected to announce Jenson Button’s move from Renault on Monday.

The team issued a statement at the French Grand Prix on Sunday with details of a news conference in London “concerning a 2003 driver announcement.”

The BAR statement did not mention Button.

The team’s current lineup is Canadian Jacques Villeneuve and French driver Olivier Panis. Villeneuve said on Thursday that he was staying at the team.—Reuters
