JHANG, July 20: Jhang police have arrested four alleged terrorists of the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi outfit on an information provided by their arrested leader, Akram Lahori.
This was stated by district police officer Tariq Masood Yasin while talking to newsmen here on Saturday.
Names of the arrested terrorists are Muhammad Nadeem of Mohallah Baghenal, Sajid Ahmad, Irshad Mehdi of Mohallah Sultanwala and Shahzad of Islamnagar.
He said they had established a network of terrorism under the guidance of their arrested leader Akram Lahori. They were planning to murder a police officer and an important personality of an opposite sect besides committing other acts of terrorism in the next few days, he said.
The Jhang police, he said, were keeping a strict vigil on their activities for the last few days and arrested them when they were about to set off for getting their target. Police also recovered a Honda 125 motorcycle, a 222 bore rifle and a 30 bore pistol besides important documents. Police were raiding some other hideouts to arrest the remaining persons connected with the network, he added.
