LARKANA, July 19: Different wings of the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) have failed to clear the outstanding dues of the PTCL running in millions in the STR-V region of the PTCL.
The chairman, Wapda, taking serious view of the situation, has constituted a committee, headed by the director, M&T, Sukkur, asking it to find out that why such a huge amount had been accumulated against Wapda’s various wings, reliable sources told this correspondent on Friday.
Presently, an amount to the tune of Rs34.1 million is due against Wapda in phone expenditures alone, and the sections included are operations, grid stations, construction, SCARP, stores, etc., the PTCL sources said.
It was learnt that the PTCL could not achieve its targets due to the stuck-up outstanding dues against Wapda.
However, the Wapda has moved court and sought stay orders, thereby escaping any disconnection of power supply to any of its telephone exchanges in the STR-V region, said the sources.
