HYDERABAD, July 17: Shopkeepers of Lajpat Road have expressed their grave concern over the inordinate delay in the repair of the road and appealed to the City Nazim to prevail upon the concerned engineer and the contractor to expedite the repair work.

In a written complaint to the City Nazim, 23 shopkeepers have maintained that under the Khushhal Pakistan Programme, the construction and repair of the road had to be started six months back.

However, they said, only stones had been dumped and the road had been blocked since January.

They indicated that the blockade was a source of inconvenience for not only the shopkeepers but also for the people of the densely populated area.

They said that the stones were flying inside the shops due to strong winds and their business activities were being adversely affected.

They appealed to the Nazim to redress the grievances of the shopkeepers and general public.
