LAHORE, July 16: If things go his way, three-year-old bay colt Rambo’s Way, may prove good enough to annex the feature event at the mid-week Lahore Gymkhana races to be held at the Racecourses Wednesday.

In his last outing on May 22, Rambo’s Way had registered his maiden victory but the colt had gone lame after passing the winning post. He has not raced since.

Rambo’s Way is stated to have recovered and doing well on track. If he remains sound he should beat his six rivals. Otherwise its anyone’s race.

The feature and sixth event, the Karachi Plate, a class VII division IV race, likewise other events of the day, will be run over the sprinting distance of 800 metres.

The supporting and fifth event comprising nine division V acceptors, looks to be a match between two chestnut geldings Burrat Again and Pistol Pete. The former will be going all out to make it two in-a-row while the latter to avenge his consecutive defeats.

The three-year-old colt Dhadhana, who achieved an easy success last Wednesday is again placed well in the handicap to have the better of his 15 rivals in the fourth race.

This is perhaps the most difficult race to predict any result.

Bay Abr-e-Sehar, chestnut gelding Russian Pet and dark- bay Balal Star are also the worthy contenders, while Jungle Beat and My Fantasy are tracking well but their in the field performance have so far belied it.

The well-bred mare Surprise Mission is also there to sprang a big surprise.

The LRC request to owners and trainers to enter a maximum number of runners had received a positive response and the number of races has been increased to six from five and the acceptors almost doubled for Wednesday’s card.

On the whole the card looks a ticklish one. The first race will start at 2.30 pm.
