ISLAMABAD, July 15: The Pakistan army in coordination with the air force, Navy personnel, and the Strategic Plans Division will kick off its 10-day wargames on Tuesday.

President Gen Pervez Musharraf is closely involved in the wargames and is expected to visit National Defence College repeatedly over the next 10 days, Maj-Gen Rashid Qureshi told a news briefing.

The objective of these manoeuvres is to validate the plans of the Pakistan army and to evaluate its operational effectiveness in the actual war, the Director-General of Military Operations, Lt-Gen Ashfaq Kiyani, told reporters at the NDC. The headquarters of two imaginary armies - Blue Land and Fox Land - have been set up at the NDC besides a control headquarters to monitor the games.
