SARGODHA, July 14: An instructor of a local polytechnic institute was allegedly thrashed by four students on Saturday night.

According to an FIR, the accused including, Salam Shaukat of Jhang, Muhammad Yousaf of Hadali and Muhammad Imran of Sargodha, called the instructor out from his house in Khuda Bukhsh Colony.

They took him to their house and thrashed him severely after tying his hands with a rope. His hue and cry attracted the passers-by who saved him from them. The instructor alleged that accused students also deprived him of his wristwatch and a bracelet.

Police have registered a case under Section 393 PPC and are investigating.

SIX ARRESTED: Six people involved in selling lottery tickets of the prize bond numbers were rounded up on Sunday by the Urban area police.

Those arrested are: Muhammad Akram, Rana Shahid, Mehmood Akhtar, Muhammad Iqbal, Zafar Hussain and Bilal.

It is learnt that around 70dealers are involved in thisillegal business, but the police have arrested only six of them. The people alleged thatpolice were supervizing the gambling.

BIKE DRIVEN AWAY: Thieve(s) on Saturday night drove away with a motorbike (4442-GTD) from the house of Muhammad Ashraf in Abdullah Colony.
