KARACHI, July 12: The District Development Working Party (DDWP) of City District Government, Karachi, met here under the chairmanship of District Coordination Officer, Shafiqur rehman Paracha and accorded approval to the left-over development schemes of the third phase of Khushhal Pakistan Programme (KPP).
Some 30 schemes of sewerage, water supply and road construction were put up before the DDWP for consideration and approval.
These schemes were proposed by the Nazims of SITE, Keamari, Shah Faisal and Korangi Towns.
The meeting was attended by the Nazims of concerned towns, representative of Nazim Karachi, EDO Finance, EDO Works, District Officer Planning, Chief Engineer KWSB and other concerned senior officials.
The DDWP approved 15 schemes of roads for different Towns, five for water supply, eight of sewerage.
The construction of roads will cost Rs 87.3 million, water supply Rs 21.8 million and sewerage 17.32 million.
Out of five water schemes approved, two were submitted by Keamari Town and three by Shah Faisal Town. In Shah Faisal Town, Rs 7 million would be spent on the restoration of water pumping station.
The sewerage schemes will be completed in Jamshed Town, Korangi Town and Malir Town. —APP
