3 armymen killed on road

SHEIKHUPURA, July 11: Three army men were killed in an accident on Thursday near the National Feed Industry, some 22 kms from here on the Faisalabad Road.

A jeep on which the army men were taking edible items for their colleagues developed some fault and crashed at high speed to a roadside tree. In consequence, two employees including a driver died instantly while another, who sustained serious wounds, died on the way to hospital.

On receiving information, police high ups, including SSP headquarters Syed Ibni Hussain, traffic DSP Syed Shabbir Shah and military officials rushed to the spot. Names of the deceased persons could not be ascertained as the bodies were taken into custody by the department concerned. Similarly, no FIR was lodged with the police according to the army rules.

FOUR MURDERED: Four people, including two women, were murdered in different parts of the district during the last 24 hours.

Woman ‘R’ and her lover Ghulam Rasool were axed to death by her brothers Qaiser and Imran in Mallian Kalan village. The accused saw their sister sitting with her lover in their house.

A security guard, Muhammad Ali, deployed at the saw machine factory of Nawab Din was shot dead by unidentified assailants in city area early Thursday morning.

City police are going into the matter.

The third incident occurred in Chappa Minara village where the decomposed body of a teenaged girl was recovered from its field. The body bore multiple injury wounds.

Saddar police are looking into the matter.
