PESHAWAR, July 11: People’s Party provincial chief Khwaja Muhammad Khan Hoti has said that the PPP will never approve the government of a single man in the country.

According to a press release issued from the Hoti House here on Thursday, Mr Hoti said the constitutional package would damage the parliamentary form of government in the country. This package granted powers to the president to elect a parliament and in this way he would exercise powers and could influence parliament, he added.

He said this surgery into the constitution would lead the country towards dictatorship. The presidential form of government was not suitable for Pakistan, he asserted.

This package, Mr Hoti said, was a great threat to democracy and parliamentary form of government enshrined in the constitution.

He said the PPP would win the elections against the hand-picked politicians and their Tonga parties.
