DADU, July 10: A group of six Mastoi clansmen opened an indiscriminate fire at their rivals killing two of them and injured another one in front of the DCO office here on Wednesday.

The victims, belonging to same clan, had a dispute with the assailants and were on their way to a local court to attend the hearing.

The deceased were identified as Din Mohammed (35) and Haji Mohammed Mithal (65). Ahmed Khan sustained critical wounds in the attack and was admitted to the local civil hospital.

On the complaint of one, Mohammed Idrees Mastoi, police have registered a case against the accused, Ghulam Nabi, Sikandar, Mehboob, Haji Rehmatullah, Liaquat and Gulan.

BUDGET: A surplus budget of the Taluka Council, Dadu, for the year 2002-3 was approved here on Wednesday.

Naib Nazim, Syed Ali Murad Shah, presided over the budget session.

The council members unanimously approved the proposals to impose 21 new taxes, including property tax, nally tax, streetlight tax, katcha piri tax, license tax, cattle piri tax, enlistment tax, tender tax, parking tax, latrine tax, water supply tax and road service tax.

The Awam Ittehad Panel boycotted the session saying that the budget was presented without the approval of the chairman of finance committee. It took out a procession from the council hall and marched up to the press club raising slogans against the Nazim.

The council members, Ghulam Nabi, Nawaz Ali, Najamuddin, Muhammad Umer, Sohrab and Raj Kumar, led the procession.
