Qambrani hits 130 in regional final

KARACHI, Nov 2: Former Pakistan junior batsman Shahid Qambrani stroked a century as Dadu took control of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-II regional final against Nawabshah at Makli ground Friday.

Qambrani hammered a fine 130 as Dadu collected 316 for eight from their allotted 65 overs.

When stumps were drawn for the first day of the two-day match, Nawabshah were 124 for four and still needing 193 runs from 31 overs to take the first innings lead which is likely to play the decisive role.

Qambrani batted for 151 minutes and faced 134 balls. He was involved in a 95-run fourth wicket stand with Alamgir who was a silent spectators while scoring 22.

For Nawabshah, Abid Ali captured four wickets for 74 runs while Shahid Husain snapped up three for 100.

Dadu’s Javed Liaquat also had a fine day when he first struck a run-a-ball 61 and then claimed all the four Nawabshah wickets conceding 37 runs from 11 overs.
