Gen Hafiez new NAB chief

ISLAMABAD, Nov 2: Lt-Gen Munir Hafiez on Friday assu-med charge of chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), becoming the third serving army general to head the NAB.

After taking over as NAB chairman, he called on Presi-dent Musharraf to thank him for the trust reposed in him.

Gen Hafiez’s appointment has been made in consultation with the chief justice of Pakistan, Raja Mohammad Bashir, prosecutor general accountability told Dawn. Under an SC judgment the appointment of the “next” NAB chief had to be made in consultation with the chief justice of Pakistan.
