Brahimi meets French FM

ISLAMABAD, Nov 2: The UN secretary-general’s special representative for Afghanistan, Lakhdar Brahimi, met the French foreign minister, Hubert Vedrine, on Thursday evening.

Speaking at a news conference here on Friday, a UN spokesperson said the French foreign minister and the UN special envoy discussed the humanitarian, political and developmental role of the UN in Afghanistan.

The spokesperson said that Mr Brahimi left for Iran on Friday morning via United Arab Emirates, where he will meet the Iranian leadership and Afghan leaders based there.
