SIALKOT, July 5: Heavy rain followed by duststorm on Thursday night uprooted several electricity polls and dozens of roadside trees in Sialkot and Narowal districts

This resulted in the suspension of power supply on Friday for about eight hours to all congested and industrial areas in Sialkot, Daska, Bhopalwala, Sambrial, Pasrur and Chawinda in hot and humid weather.

The situation in various far-flung areas was even more worse where the power supply could not be restored for the last 24 hours due to the negligence of Wapda staff.

All the low-lying areas in Sialkot and Narowal were under three to four feet rainwater.

STRIKE: Transporters on Friday continued their strike in protest against the levy of various toll taxes by the Sialkot TMA and Cantonment Board.

Commuters have to face hardships in the absence of public transport for the fifth consecutive day in Sialkot, Uggoki, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur.
