HYDERABAD, July 5: Some activists of the Shabab-e-Milli staged a protest demonstration outside the press club on Friday against the rape of a poor girl in Meerwala, Multan, and a scheduled caste girl in Husri.
The protesters were led by M. Naeem Abbasi, and Raja M. Hussain.
They demanded that the perpetrators of the heinous crimes should be awarded exemplary punishment. Besides, the victims’ families should be provided compensation.
They said that justice should be provided regardless of political expediencies.
PROTEST: The citizens of Ghulam Nabi Shah town, Mirpurkhas District, staged a protest demonstration outside the press club on Friday.
They held the protest under the banner of the “Save Ghulam Nabi Shah town action committee”. They were protesting against the arrest of social worker, Syed Aijaz Ali Shah, and registration of false cases against the leading citizens who had raised their voice against the police.
Talking to newsmen, the councillor Abdul Rauf Rahimoon and others alleged that the Ghulam Nabi Shah police was patronizing gambling and prostitution dens and was taking bribes from drug dealers.
