LAHORE, May 4 The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Women's Wing has announced a 14-member women's team for next month's ICC World Twenty20 championship to be held in England.

The names of four reserve players and four officials of the contingent have also been announced.

Sana Mir has been named captain in place of Urooj Mumtaz Khan, who led the team in the ICC Women's World Cup (one-day matches) in Australia back in March. Soon after returning from the event the Women's Wing chairperson Shireen Javed had hinted on forthcoming changes in captaincy, as she was not fully satisfied with Urooj Mumtaz's performance.

Mansoor Rana, who has also been inducted as coach in place of Umer Rasheed said that the team was well balanced and though the girls had no international experience of Twenty20 cricket they would perform better.

The girls were doing extensive training in the ongoing camp at the Muridke Academy and they would have played 25 Twenty20 matches against different teams including Under-16 boys to get practice before their departure to England.

Neither the new captain, vice captain nor the former skipper or any of the Women's Wing officials were available for comments when Dawn tried to contact them on Monday.

Team Sana Mir (captain), Nain Abdi (vice captain), Almas Akram, Naila Nazir, Armaan Khan, Batool Fatima, Nazia Sadiq, Asmavia Iqbal, Bismah Maroof, Qanita Jalil, Urooj Mumtaz Khan, Javeria Wadood, Marina Iqbal, Sajida Shah.

Reserves Kainat Imtiaz, Sania Iqbal, Rabia Batool, Sadia Yousaf.

Officials Ayesha Ashhar (team manager), Mansoor Rana (coach), Yasir Malik (trainer), Sunaina Munir (physiotherapist).
