LAHORE, July 3: The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) and the Awami Qiadat Party on Wednesday discussed electoral adjustments for October polls.

PML(N) convener Zulfiqar Khosa and provincial information secretary Zaeem Husain Qadri called on AQP chief Gen Mirza Aslam Beg and information secretary Muhammad Mehdi and deliberated upon various issues including collective leadership and the option to boycott elections.

However, they agreed that boycotting the polls was not a good option.

Both the parties also discussed their contacts with other political parties.

Mr Khosa said the party was in close contacts with the Jamaat-i-Islami, the Jamiat Ahle Hadith of Prof Sajid Mir and the Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan of Sahibzada Fazle Karim.

Mr Beg said his was in constant coordination with the JI and the Pakistan People’s Party.

The PML(N) team, however, said that they could not strike an electoral alliance with the PPP.
