KARACHI, July 3: As many as 11 vehicles — five cars and six motorcycles — were taken away on Wednesday.

Three cars were hijacked by the bandits and two others stolen in different localities, including Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Saddar, and Clifton.

Two motorcycles were hijacked and four others stolen in various areas, including North Nazimabad, Gulberg, Gulshan-i- Iqbal, etc.

DIES: A suspected criminal, who had been wounded on Tuesday evening in a police encounter, died at a hospital on Wednesday.

Police said Darveza was arrested, with his accomplice in Gulzar-i-Hijri police limits following an encounter with the police. A policeman Nasir Saeed also lost his life in the shootout. Darveza, who suffered a bullet wound in his leg, was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed hospital, where he succumbed to his injury.
