KARACHI, July 2: There has been no increase in the examination fees in the budget of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi for the fiscal year 2002-03.

This was stated by Board chairman Mohammad Aziz Ansari on Tuesday.

He said examination fees of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi were the lowest as compared to those of the other secondary boards in the country.

It was stated that the total anticipated income of the BSEK during the year 2002-03 is to the tune of Rs164,103,500 and an anticipated expenditure during the period is Rs163,392,500 with a surplus of Rs711,000.

The BSEK chief said the impact of the disbursement of salaries to the staff in accordance with the new scales would be Rs10 million.

He said the remuneration of the teachers engaged in the examination works had also been increased which will enable the Board to hire the services of senior teachers to ensure the conduct of examinations in a more effective manner.—APP
