RAWALPINDI, April 14 An anti-terrorism court here on Tuesday extended the physical remand of a suspect arrested in connection with the Mumbai terrorist attacks for four days after investigators said he was to be interrogated about his accomplices.

A source said ATC-II Judge Sakhi Mohammad Kahut, who has been conducting the trial of the suspect, Shahid Jameel Riaz, a resident of Bahawalpur, in Adiala Jail, remanded him to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The accused, an active member of the proscribed Lashkar-i-Tayyaba, was arrested in Chakwal on March 19.

The court also extended the judicial remand of four other accused in the case - Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi of Islamabad, Abdul Wajid alias Zarar Shah, a resident of Sheikhupura, Mazhar Iqbal alias Abu al-Qama of Islamabad and Hammad Amin Saddiq of Karachi - till April 28 after the FIA said they needed more time to complete the charge-sheet against them.

Separately, the court directed the FIA to complete the charge-sheet against a man accused of being involved in planning suicide attacks on former president Pervez Musharraf in June last year and submit it till April 21.

Noor Mohammad of Malakand Agency was arrested by the FIA in March after three vehicles loaded with over 1,000 kg explosives were seized in the city and 12 men were arrested.
