KARACHI, July 1: The acting administrative judge, Anti-Terrorism Courts of Karachi, Arshad Noor Khan, on Monday remanded in police custody Attaullah Bokhari and three others till July 14.

They are charged with murdering three persons, including Dr Al-e-Safdar Zaidi and the principal of Jamia Millia Government College, Zafar Mehdi Zaidi. The court released Attaullah, who had been taken into custody because of resemblance of his name with that of the suspect.

Mohammad Ajmal, Attaullah Bokhari, Mohammad Azam and Tassaduq Hussain were arrested on June 29 by CIA police.

They were also wanted in 12 other cases pertaining to murder and sectarian violence. FIRs 173/2002 and 175/2002 were lodged against them at the Gizri and Al-Fallah police stations respectively.—PPI
