ISLAMABAD, June 30: Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmed has said that presence of United States troops in the country was a threat to the sovereignty of Pakistan.

In an interview with Radio Tehran, he said the people had opposed the presence of US troops and Federal Bureau of Investigation personnel in the country.

The JI chief said the US troops were interfering in internal affairs of the country on various pretexts, which was a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty.

He said the US was spreading destruction under the cover of its campaign against terrorism by launching a war against the Muslims.
