KARACHI, April 1 Salman steered Aga Khan University (AKU) to an emphatic 53-9 victory over Hamdard University in the opening match of Inter-university Zone `F` basketball tournament which commenced at the NED University on Wednesday.
Showing perfect ability of scoring he contributed almost half of the team`s total (25) as the winners led 26-6 at half-time. He was followed by Muzammil 13.
Aga Khan University now meets defending champions Karachi University in the semi-final on Thursday at 3.00pm.
Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) got a walkover against Biztek University which failed to turn up. They are drawn to meet last year`s runners up Iqra University in the other pre-final at 4.00pm.
Earlier, NED University outplayed Lumhs University Jamshoro 64-21 after enjoying 27-15 lead at half time. S. M. Sarim and Habibullah contributed 12 points apiece while Mudassar and Ammad shared 18 points amongst themselves. Waqas Memon scored 16 for the losers.
NED which stormed into four-team final after playing a match now faces Greenwich University who in the other encounter got the better of Mehran University Jamshoro 47-25. The winners led 19-12 at half-time.
Sajjad (19) and Umair (10) stole the limelight for the winners while Waqas and Kaleem contributed seven and six respectively for the losers.

Zone `H` NED University v Greenwich University (final) at 10.00am.
