DADU, Nov 1: Tuberculosis is spreading fast in several parts of Dadu district as 450 TB patients including women and children have been hospitalised to 16 TB centres of the district and the condition of the majority of the patients is stated to be serious.

This was revealed by a survey conducted by Dawn.

When this correspondent contacted the taluka health officer Dadu, Dr Abdul Rashid Qureshi, on Thursday, he told that during last three months 355 patients had been admitted to 16 TB centres of the district.

He said that in October, 40 TB patients were treated by Johi TB centre.

He said that the ratio of TB cases was increasing in Dadu district.

The in charge of TB centre of Dadu civil hospital, Dr Roshan Ali Channa said that 106 TB patients from various village had been treated at the hospital.

He added that the condition of 12 patients including Ms Hameedan, 55, resident of Workshop Mohalla, Ghulam Haider, Ali Gul, 18, of Wapda Colony, Mazan, 45, of Bagh Ali Chandio village was deteriorating.

He appealed to the people to get their sputum checked from the TB centres and if needed receive TB medicines without any charges .
