ABBOTABAD, June 26: A high-powered judicial inquiry was demanded in the death of Omar Asghar Khan by the Qaumi Jamhoori Party as the party does not believe that his death was a suicide case, says Zafar Mirza Secretary-General of QJP.
Zafar Mirza speaking here at a press conference at the residence of Omar Asghar Khan, just before the funeral procession, said that an emergent meeting of the party was held on the morning and party has decided to take the matter on national level as they consider it a national loss.
Reacting over the press conference of DIG Karachi, Mirza said that the police without waiting the results of the postmortem, has given its version which is unfair and incomplete.
Giving the details of Omar Asghar Khan’s tour programme, Mr Mirza said that he was on his routine business and had confirmed several appointments including the family affairs and there were no signs of any type of trouble which had compelled Omar to commit suicide.
He said that only a high-powered commission comprising judges of high court can sort out the cause of this incident.
Party secretary-general ruled out all impressions that Omar was disappointed by the party position as some circles are of the view that party could not get positive response and Omar Asghar was depressed.
