Solidarity with Taliban expressed

FAISALABAD, 7: A Jamaat-i-Islami convention was held here on Sunday to express solidarity with the Taliban government and to condemn US steps to implicate Muslim countries in terrorist attacks.

At the convention, presided over by JI amir Qazi Husain Ahmad, a number of resolutions were adopted.

It was resolved that in case the US forces attacked Afghanistan, the JI would start a “long march” towards Islamabad.

Another resolution said rallies and protest demonstrations would be held throughout the country against the decision of the Musharraf government to provide support to America to take action against Afghanistan.

Speaking at the convention, Qazi Husain Ahmad alleged that President Musharraf had supported the USA just to prolong his rule.

He further alleged that the Jewish lobby had hatched a conspiracy against Muslims. Israel was involved in the Sept 11 incident, but the international community was befooled by the USA just to achieve its nefarious designs against Muslim countries especially Afghanistan.

Later, a grand rally was held from the convention venue. It marched on various city roads and reached the Clock Tower Intersection.
