KARACHI, Nov 1: Police raided the houses of some of the youths acquitted and recently released in the Hakim Said murder case, on Thursday.

Sources said that the police raided the houses of at least three youths, who were not present at the time of the raids.

However, the police arrested Abu Imran Pasha, who was present in his house at the time of the raid.

Confirming the arrest, the IG Sindh, Syed Kamal Shah, told Dawn, “that the Supreme Court had issued warrants of arrests for the nine accused exonerated in the Hakim Said case, which have to be implemented, and that we had received the orders through official channel.”

The eight accused who were acquitted by the Sindh High Court in the case are: Mohammad Amirullah, Ajazul Hasan, Mohammad Zubair Husain, Mohammad Asif, Nadeem Ahmed, Mohammad Faisal, Mohammad Abu Imran Pasha, and Mohammad Shakir Langra.

The Supreme Court, on Thursday, issued non-bailable warrants of the eight accused and directed the Sindh government to keep them in Central Jail Karachi till the decision of the apex court on the State appeals against their acquittal.
