HYDERABAD, Nov 1: The Sindh Goods Transport Group, Hyderabad, has demanded of the administration to ensure that the buses and coaches plying in the interior of Sindh did not load vegetables, fruits and other goods in their vehicles as the goods transport owners were suffering huge losses.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Thursday, the chairman of the group, Malik Fateh Khan Awan, said that buses and coaches were meant to carry passengers and not goods.

However, he complained, that the buses and coaches plying in the interior of Sindh were not only carrying all sorts of goods but also sheep and goats.

He said that their trucks had to return empty from the interior of Sindh as a result of which they were suffering huge loses.

He claimed that even legally the Road Transport Authority had permitted bus and coach owners to carry passengers only whereas the goods were to be carried in trucks.

He also alleged that the goods transporters were not only being looted by the highwaymen on roads but they were also being harassed by the police.

He appealed to the police high-ups to direct SHOs to register FIRs in case of theft and robberies.

He appealed to the Singh governor, the IGP of Sindh and the DIG of Hyderabad to take notice of the excesses against the goods transport owners.
