VEHARI, June 25: Opposition member in the district council was re-arrested on Tuesday under MPO 3 after he was granted bail by a court on Monday.
Dr Nazir Ahmad alias Mithoo Dogar was detained on the orders of Punjab home secretary. The secretary issued orders on the recommendation of Vehari district Nazim and Naib Nazim on the charges of misbehaviour with the latter.
He has been detained for 90 days.
Meanwhile, a number of opposition members condemned the detention of Dr Nazir on the orders of the home secretary.
PRICE INCREASE: There is a sharp increase in the prices of items of daily use after the budget.
Stockists stored items like ghee, vegetable oil, chilies, etc., and created artificial shortage before the budget. After imposition of general sales tax on a number of items, they are selling commodities at exorbitant rates.
