LARKANA, June 25: The chief of Chandio tribe, Nawab Shabbir Ahmed, has demanded of the government to lift siege to Dera Bugti and open dialogue with Nawab Akbar Bugti to settle down the dispute with him.

Talking to this scribe here on Tuesday he said it was quite unwise to lay the siege and deploy troops at Dera Bugti.

He said the government should send its emissary to Bugti to initiate talks with him and resolve the issue, if any.

He said sending more troops and tanks to Dera Bugti would escalate tension instead of finding ways to address the issue.

Meanwhile, the chairperson of the PPP (SB) and Pakistan National Conference, Ghinwa Bhutto, has expressed sorrow over the demise of former federal minister Omar Asghar Khan, who was found dead in his Karachi residence on Tuesday.

In her message to the bereaved family and the father of the deceased, Asghar Khan, Ghinwa Bhutto prayed to God to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.

UTP DIES: An under trial prison, Raj Kumar, died in the Larkana Central Prison here on Tuesday.

The prison officials claimed that after the UTP fainted suddenly, he was immediately rushed to the jail hospital where died.

The body was brought to the mortuary of the Chandka Medical College Hospital from where relatives of the deceased took it away after autopsy.

Raj Kumar was arrested in a fraud case registered with the Civil Lines police and sent to the jail on June 21.

FIRING: Unidentified persons opened indiscriminate fire on vehicular traffic on the Qambar road here on Monday night, causing damage to two vehicles, including the car of SHO, Qambar police.

The car the SHO, Shaukat Rind, was fired at after its driver refused to stop at the signal of the armed persons near Pir jo Goth in the jurisdiction of the Taluka police station.

In another incident on the same road, unidentified armed persons tried to stop a truck by opening fire on it but the truck driver sped up its vehicle.
