PESHAWAR, June 25: Federal Interior Minister Moinuddin Haider has said that religious leaders will not be allowed to use religion for their political ends.

Presiding over a high-level meeting at the central police office here on Tuesday, he said religious leaders had used the people, particularly the youth, to forward their own interests in the past.

He remarked that the exploitation of religion had caused a lot of harm to the younger generation, which remained devoid of the modern educational facilities and fruits of technological advancement.

The minister expressed his dissatisfaction over the prevailing law and order situation in the province.
