ABBOTTABAD, June 24: Abbottabad district council has expressed concern over poor response by Wapda on not restoring power to their union councils.

The concern was expressed through a resolution adopted unanimously by the council, presided over by Barrister Jawed Abbasi, Naib Nazim of Abbottabad district.

The council also called upon the Wapda chairman for extending help in removing complaints of the clients.

Through the resolution the council demanded of the government to make the Wapda answerable to the provincial government if not to district government.

At least 21 members of Abbottabad district council spoke against the ill treatment by the Wapda with their union councils. Most of the members in their complaints said despite the approval of authorities concerned the Wapda had failed to restore the power supply in their areas. Some members said in most of the areas transformers were not replaced.
