KARACHI, June 22: Representatives of the National Transport Ittehad (NTI), Karachi, have called for restoration of the old system of traffic challan.

The demand was made by a delegation of NTI, who called on City Nazim Naimatullah Khan and DCO Karachi Shafiqur Rehman Paracha.

The NTI delegation was headed by its chairman, Saleem Khan Bangash.

The delegation apprised the Nazim of alleged excesses of the traffic police officials, unfair challans, heavy fines and defects in the tickets.

The members of the delegation also criticized increase in the petroleum prices and the role of the Oil Company Advisory Committee which, they demanded, should be abolished.

They pointed out that on one violation of traffic rules the traffic police used four sections at a time to impose heavy penalties.—APP
