DURBAN, Oct 31: Indian batsman Rahul Dravid is fit to play in the first Test against South Africa this week despite being diagnosed with a shoulder injury, team management said Wednesday.
Dravid saw an orthopaedic surgeon in Cape Town Monday to investigate pain in his right shoulder which has troubled him for the past four months.
Dr Joe de Beer diagnosed Dravid with “flat lesion syndrome” and explained the injury as a “shoulder cartilage rupture”.—Reuters
