KARACHI, June 18: Takhayyul, a collection of verses by Sabiha Saba — an Abu Dhabi-based poet —, was launched by a local literary forum with Dr Mohammad Ali Siddiqui in the chair.

Admiring the poet for her poetic command, Dr Siddiqui said poetry should not be studied in small pieces but should be appreciated in toto. Sabiha Saba, he said, had produced four collections of verses which amply proved her poetic talent.

Others who spoke on the occasion included Ali Haider Malik, Syed Azfer Rizvi, Iqbal Majeedi, and Dr Mohsin.

The chief guest, S. H. Hashmi, praised the poet for her pious human feelings.

Iqbal Majeedi and Saghir Ahmad Jafery paid their complements in verses. Dr Mohsin, a known humanist, read out his humorous article written for the occasion.

The poetry collection was launched by Halqa Fikr-i-Jadeed. TV artist Dr Huma Mir did the compering.—HA
