HYDERABAD, June 17: The controller of examinations, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, on Monday announced the result of MBBS (part-II) annual examination of 2002 of the LUMHS, Jamshoro, Chandka Medical College, Larkana, and Peoples Medical College, Nawabshah, held in March.
According to a face sheet of the results, Ameet Kumar, son of Ghansham Das, seat No 421, secured first position while Ghulam Murtaza, son of Qamar Din Memon, seat No 61, and Sanaullah, son of Lutfullah Kalwar, secured second and third position, respectively.
HIAST: The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology has announced that regular examination of BS (IT) of 1st semester, 1st year of the Hyderabad Institute of Arts, Science and Technology (HIAST), will be held from June 25 between 9:30am to 12:30pm. Examination forms without late fee can be submitted up to June 20 and with late fee up to 22.
The registrar of the HIAST will issue the examination forms only to those students who have qualified prescribed attendance requirement and have paid their tuition fee.
SU: Vice Chancellor, University of Sindh, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, has called upon the university scholars to come forward with new ideas and proposals for promotion of higher education.
He was speaking as chief guest at the opening ceremony of the two-week refresher course-2002 for librarians organized by the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science (IMCS) and Department of Library and Information Science at the Jamshoro campus on Monday.
He lauded the efforts of the IMCS for providing service to the university departments in computer and information technology skills. He said that the SU had constituted a committee for introducing reforms in the university.
Director, IMCS, and coordinator of the inter linkage programme, Prof Asif Ali Kazi highlighted the importance of the coordination between libraries of the university and other libraries of various departments and institutes located at Jamshoro and Hyderabad.
Chief librarian, Allama I.I. Kazi Central Library, Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, said that for the inter linkage programme every participating library would first classify and catalogue its collections for which the programme and proforma has already been provided to the participants. She added that after collection of the information from the participating libraries, it would be computerized in a master file.
She said that 53 librarians from seminar libraries of the Sindh University, Sindh Language Authority, Institute of Sindhology, Sindhi Adbai Board, Pakistan Study Centre, Far East and South Asia Study Centre, Sindh Text Book Board, Shamsululema Daudpoto Library, Hyderabad, and librarians from other libraries were attending the refresher course.
