KARACHI: Man commits suicide

KARACHI, June 14: A young man committed suicide in his home in New Karachi on Friday.

The police said that Mohammed Waseem, aged 32, hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his house. The man was a motor mechanic. He got married three months back.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.

CARJACKING: Twenty-one vehicles — eight cars and 13 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Friday, the police said.

Five cars were hijacked. Three others were stolen.

Four motorcycles hijacked. Nine others were stolen.

The police also claimed on Friday to have recovered one car and two motorcycles in the city.

SHOT DEAD: The body of a young man was found in Nazimabad on late Thursday night.

The police said that the dead man, identified as Akbar Ali, aged 27, was thrown from a moving vehicle in front of the Sindh Sports Board office in Nazimabad No 2. He was identified from a card recovered from his pocket which showed that he was a member of a jewellers’ (Sarrafa) association and resident of Qasba Mor.
