PESHAWAR, Oct 31: Chairman of Pakistan-Afghan Defence Council Maulana Samiul Haq has urged the religious leaders and politicians to play their due role to rid the country of the imperialist forces.

Speaking at a Jihad conference organised by Tanzeem Mashaikh Ahle Sunnat at Manki Sharif on Wednesday, Maulana Samiul Haq said that the current situation in the region, emerged after the US attack on Afghanistan, was a serious challenge for the Muslim world.

He said it was a matter of great satisfaction that ulema and Mashaikh of all sects had become united on the issue of US aggression on Afghanistan. In the prevailing situation, he said the country needed courageous leadership to guide the nation and face the challenges.

He appealed to the nation to launch struggle from the platform of Pak-Afghan Defence Council to force the government to review its policies.
