DERA ISMAIL KHAN, June 11: Bandits looted cash and valuables and injured a man on his resistance here on Tuesday.

Four armed men entered the house of Mohammad Akbar on Dera Diyal Road and collected Rs75,000 and other valuables. Meanwhile, Akbar tried to snatch pistol from one of the dacoits who opened fire on him. Later, dacoits fled. Akbar was taken to a local hospital.

In another incident, four bandits tried to enter the house of Mohammad Habib at Tiba Yasin in Paharpur police limits. However, the dogs present in the courtyard of the house, resisted their entry. An exchange of fire between dacoits and villagers forced the dacoits to escape.

A kidnapping attempt was also foiled last night when Habib Laghari and his accomplices tried to kidnap daughter of Saifoor Khan in village Din Pur. The hue and cry made by the girl woke up the area people, forcing abductors to leave the place.
