RAWALPINDI, June 10: The lecturers of Gordon College have protested against the government move to privatize the city’s premier institution.

They vowed to resist such effort with full force. The Punjab Lecturers and Professors Association president, Mohammad Ilyas Qureshi, spoke to the teachers and assured them that the educational institutions including Gordon College, Rawalpindi, would not be privatized.

The PPLA president said the district Nazim had already been informed of the teachers’ worries regarding the underhand move. The Nazim, he said, had assured full cooperation in this regard and the relevent authorities had been informed of the whole situation.

Mr Qureshi pledged they would launch a movement against such efforts.
