HYDERABAD, June 10: Sindh Awami National Party president Qamoos Gul Khattak has said the increasing incidents of kidnapping for ransom, car snatching and extortion during the military regime are not only incomprehensible but also a stigma on the Sindh government.

He said inspite of the fact that a huge amount was being spent on the maintenance of law and order in the province, no one was feeling safe.

In a statement issued here on Monday, Mr Khattak said that on the average 20 vehicles were being snatched in Karachi daily, people were murdered and kidnapped and the recovery of “Bhatta” had become common.

He alleged that the government machinery was busy in victimizing political opponents of the government.

The ANP leader said the Sindh government should take a notice of its failure in the recovery of Surgeon Mohammad Hussain Leghari.
