LAHORE: Demonstration for peace

LAHORE, June 8: Several political parties plan to hold a peace demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club on Thursday evening.

The participant include the National Workers’ Party, the Pakistan People’s Party (Shaheed Bhutto), the Labour Party Pakistan, the Communist Mazdoor Kissan Party and the Pakistan Awami Party. The theme of the demonstration is Peace Not War, Bread Not Bombs.

The Pakistan Trade Union Federation, the Democratic Labour Federation, the United Labour Federation, the All Pakistan Trade Unions’ Federation, the All Pakistan Teachers’ Federation, the Punjab Teachers’ Union, the All Pakistan Clerical Staff Association and the Pakistan Printing and Graphic Workers’ Union and several non-government organizations will also take part in the protest.
