LAHORE, June 7: Pakistan is prepared to hold dialogue with India any time, anywhere for solving all outstanding disputes and issues, including that of Kashmir, Information Minister Nisar Memon told reporters here on Friday. He said Pakistan was committed to resolution of all disputes through dialogue.

He said Pakistan was ready to discuss any proposal, including that of joint patrolling of LoC made by Indian Prime Minister AB.Vajpayee at Almatay. However, he said, the Indian government itself appeared divided over the proposal as the statement of its defence minister, George Fernandes, indicated.

The minister claimed that President Gen Pervez Musharraf had won a remarkable diplomatic victory over the Indians at Almatay on the issue of the massive Indian military buildup on the borders. He said the international opinion was fast changing in Pakistan’s favour and “our friends now understand our point of view far better than before.”

He said the Indians were well aware that an escalation of military crisis was not to their advantage. Even the people of India were worried over the policies pursued by their government. He said Pakistan was a responsible state and was opposed to terrorism anywhere in the world.
